W.A.R is a student-athlete run organization from the University of Michigan, focused on amplifying the voices of the oppressed, empowering the marginalized, and rewriting the narrative of our lives to reflect our true history and experiences against racism, nationally and globally.

Section 1. 

Purpose: WAR is established as an ongoing effort to achieve and maintain safe spaces within the Athletic Department and across our campus for the expressed purpose of developing leadership skills as well as an awareness of social responsibilities to encourage students to be engaged and involved in social justice.

Section 2. 

Mission: Through collective student-athlete efforts, our mission is to raise awareness surrounding racial injustices with the intention of engaging in meaningful action in our communities. We desire to experience safe, genuine engagement through education, research, and discussion while attending the University of Michigan.
